My new favorite scifi book

Bewertung am 21.06.2025

Bewertungsnummer: 2520963

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

I adore this book! It's funny, it has an interesting story, the planet and it's ecosystem gets soo much attention.. everything that happened feels like it makes sense im the story. And even though their politic system on earth play a big role and I'm usually not a person that enjoys stories with a focus on politics. Not everyone will think this is a perfect book and I also don't want to claim that but I personally enjoyed this book so much it would be a crime to rate it lower The only thing that annoyed me in the beginning a little bit is that the protagonist has to explain again and again how life on this alien planet works. It is interesting for sure but sometimes it feels like he's just repeating himself. But it is an important element tho so I see where the author is coming from. If you don't think it's interesting you will most likely not like that book - vague "structural" spoilers!- The structure feels very thought out, even though during part 3 I was a bit confused why some "flashbacks" were happening at first, but it actually makes perfect sense the more you read, so I can't be mad. And overall, the protagonist literally tells you sometimes how things will resolve but the author does a really good job at keeping it interesting.
