The Greatest Nobodies of History Minor Characters from Major Moments

This book is such a fun and refreshing way to learn about history. Instead of focusing on the usual famous figures, Adrian Bliss tells historical events through the perspective of the “nobodies” who were somehow involved. From the extinction of the dodos, to the ferret in Leonardo da Vinci’s Lady with an Ermine, to the surprisingly bizarre Emu War in Australia, the book covers a wide range of strange and fascinating moments in history. Bliss manages to make these stories funny, engaging, and sometimes even surprisingly emotional. What I really enjoyed is how the stories are told in a playful way first, and then followed by the actual historical facts. It makes learning about history feel much more entertaining and memorable. Overall, it’s a clever and unique approach to storytelling, and I really hope there will be more books like this in the future.
