Discover the captivating journey of Norwegian immigrants forging their legacy in the land of bright horizons and unforgiving earth.
In 1888, five determined bachelors embark on an epic adventure, leaving Stranda, Norway, to fulfill their dream of becoming American land barons. Pooling their resources, they make an affordable land purchase in southern California, relying on a draw-from-a-hat method to determine who will tend to the superior land and who will make do with the less favorable plot.
Soon after, their sweethearts join them from the homeland, and the Norwegian Colony is born.
Written by the great-granddaughter of Nils Olsen and Ellen Fjorstad and a 2021 Will Rogers Medallion Award finalist for Inspirational Fiction, Norske Fields uses modern fiction techniques to recreate unforgettable characters who experience heartbreak-and bask in triumph.
Join along on an extraordinary journey and immerse yourself in the struggles, joys, and sacrifices of brave families as they settle the land and cultivate a lasting legacy.
