> This book Invites readers on a fascinating journey across all corners of the globe, from jungles to deserts, from bustling cities to desolate steppes, to rediscover the forgotten history of a handful of countries that briefly existed between 1840 and 1975 (for a few decades, a year, or even just a month) before disappearing. Kingdoms and nations with poetic and evocative names, such as Tierra del Fuego, Tripolitania, or Manchukuo, are brought back from the past by Bjorn Berge to tell the stories of how they came to vanish. Filled with anecdotes and first-hand accounts, and elegantly illustrated, Nowherelands maps out these fleeting places through stamps and maps, momentarily returning them to the geography of the world.
«Unique and very special, Nowherelands is expectionally well-researched, written, and presented. An extraordinary addition to any library.' -Midwest Book Review
