is a deeply disturbing yet hauntingly beautiful novel. After the death of her boyfriend the protagonist is lost an unsure how to go on, ultimately making the shocking decision to consume his body in order to kepp him with her forever. The story is written in a very poetic and emotinal way, balancing raw grief with obsession and love taken to an extreme. Its unsettling, but also incredibly sad and intimate. A strange, intense and unforgettable read! -

what means living?
I am still left quite the bit speechless after reading this book. On one hand the obsessive love that ends in body-horror disturbed me. On the other hand the melancholic setting, the hardships of the protagonists and how young they were when everything quite literally just fell apart in their life, touched my heart. Their thoughts. Their actions. The consequences. They all deserve being read and pondered about. -

"I don't need to be human I just need you."
What would you do if the love of your life, your soulmate, and the person you could always come back to died? Dam, the main character of this book decided that the only way to cherish her Gu (boyfriend) is to eat him. I really liked the poetic way that sometimes shimmered through. The book itself reads in a two-person POV, one of the dead boyfriend and one of the girlfriend eating him. They both tell their story of how they lived and loved. Their lives were inevitably always connected, with such a tragic ending. This book would’ve been even better if it were longer. I also kind of expected the whole cannibalism part/plot to be a bit thicker. In itself a good book and a quick read.
