A wonderful short story set in a fantasy world with fascinating magical powers and not so unrealistic ecological and psychological problems. I really like the premise of this book. Although space is always limited in a story.one book, this one conveys so much in so few words. Themes of friendship, love, loss and the pressure of responsibility are woven seamlessly into the story and are handled well. An absolute recommendation to read.
