The students that attend the Morton Academy are educational overachievers who are guaranteed a spot in a college of their choice after graduation. The elite students with the best performances are asked to join a secret society known as Jewel and Bone with a head girl at its center. But no sooner than she is named she is mysteriously murdered. Enter Liz and her group of friends Taylor, Kat, Marcus and Cole who start investigating just what is going on at the academy and behind the killing, when yet another murder occurs shortly after the first. The ending has an unexpected twist I really liked because I love me some unreliable narrator.
