Meine letzte Rezension How To Solve Your Own Murder von Kristen Perrin
This book is you average cozy crime book and it reminded me a bit of Jennifer Lynn Barnes Inheritance Games because the premise is quite similar. Annie has to solve her great aunt Francis' murder in order to get the Inheritance. This book was by no means bad it just wasnt astonishingly amazing but it is perfect for evenings on the couch when you want something fun and quick to read.

    The Song of Achilles

Madeline Miller’s The Song of Achilles is a stunning retelling of Homer’s Iliad, told through the eyes of Patroclus. By shifting the perspective away from Achilles to his companion Patroclus, she creates a deeply human story about love, loyalty, and fate. The relationship between Patroclus and Achilles is written with such tenderness that the tragic ending feels both inevitable, heartbreaking but also incredibly healing. Madeline Miller also captures the presence of gods and destiny in a way that feels natural, highlighting the contrast between mortal love and immortal consequence. It’s a must-read for fans of mythology and beautifully heart wrenching lovestories.

    The Invocations

A horror mystery urban fantasy with witches, demons and LESBIANS?!?!?!? Sign me up fastttt. The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland is the perfect book for all who love urban fantasy with a lot of female rage and a heartwarming and natural queer lovestory. We meet Zara, a schoolgirl who has poured her heart into the occult after her sisters sudden death. Jude, a girl who cursed herself badly because she didn´t know what she was doing. And Emer, a real witch aka cursewriter who helps other women gain power after her entire coven (all female witches which she called family) got murdered by witch hunters. Their friendship and lovestory (Between Emer and Jude) play out so naturally in a world full of supernatural, as they join together and investigate the murders of Emers clients taking place in London. What they will find was beyond unexpected for me and I couldn´t believe the solution was so close to them. I loved loved loved this book and it´s a must read for all.

    Sunburn

This book again wrecked me, tore my heart out and stepped on it. It is the most heartfelt sapphic coming-of-age bokk of all time and I will never change my mind about that. We follow Lucy as she tries to navigate the feelings she has and cant quite place for her friend Susanah. The book progresses from 1991 all the way to 1995 as ahe grows up in a small town in Ireland. We follow her through highschool and after she follows Martin, her childhood freind turned "forced" lover to Dublin as she feels it is whats right. But her heart is never truly there with him. The feelings Chloe Michelle Howarth conveys in Lucy, her guilt and love for Susannah, with her writing are truly so real and genuine, I cried multiple times while reading because they felt so close to home. There was so much sapphic yearing right from the beginning and it couldn't have fit more. Those teenage years when it is the hardest to understand all the feelings youre feeling, especially when you are queer and cant place the things going on in your head. This is a truly amazing book for everyone PERIOD!!!

The Hunger Games 2. Catching Fire

Catching Fire picks up shortly after Katniss victory in the 74th Hunger Games, as she returns to District 12. Although she is celebrated as a victor, she quickly realizes that her survival in the Games has sparked rebellion across Panem. The Capitol is watching her closely, and the pressure of maintaining appearances with her fellow victor, Peeta Mellark, only grows. To maintain control, the Capitol announces the 75th Hunger Games, the Quarter Quell, which will bring past victors back into the arena for another round of deadly competition. Katniss is forced to return to the arena, once again fighting not only for her own survival, but also for the lives of those she loves. In the arena, Katniss faces new challenges and dangerous alliances. The environment is more treacherous than before, and the other tributes are equally ruthless. Throughout the Games, Katniss’s growing awareness of the Capitol’s manipulation and her role in the larger uprising becomes clearer. The plot shifts from a focus on survival to one of rebellion, as Katniss and Peeta’s bond deepens and their defiance against the Capitol grows stronger. The book ends on a cliffhanger, with Katniss learning that District 12 has been obliterated and the Capitol’s power is only tightening. Catching Fire is a thrilling, intense sequel that builds on the emotional and political tension of the first book.

    Sunrise on the Reaping

"Sunrise on the reaping" has to be my second favourite book (after Catching fire, nobody beats that) and we learn all abouthe 50th hunger games or the second quarter quell. I am very late to reading this book but long awaited, I LOVED IT and it destroyed me!!!!!! When I tell you this book wrecked me, im not lying. Haymitch, Maysilee and Louella (or Lou Lou) grew so close to my heart. My girl Maysilee, the baddie you were, you will never be forgotten. After "The ballad of songbirds and snakes" especially the movie (yes im talking about Tom Blyth) we were so foolish to feel even the tiniest bit bad for Snow. He destroyed everything Haymitch ever adored and loved and I hate him for it. If you loved the original trilogy (obviously) this s the book for youuuuu, so read it immediately. And if you felt a little tingling for Snow while watching "the ballad of songbirds and snakes..... YOU TOO RIGHT NOW

    House of Hollow

House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland is a dark, atmospheric YA thriller that combines mystery and fantasy with a touch of horror. The story follows Iris Hollow, a girl searching for her two missing sisters, both of whom disappeared under strange circumstances and returned with no memory of what happened. The writing is haunting and vivid, creating a world that feels both dreamlike and unsettling. Iris is a compelling protagonist—smart, sarcastic, and deeply protective of her family, even as she uncovers all the chilling truths about them. With a fast-paced plot, eerie settings, and a gripping sense of suspense, House of Hollow kept me hooked until the final, shocking twist.

    Beklaute Frauen

Must read für alle!

    Normal People

"Normal People" by Sally Rooney explores the intense, complicated relationship between two Irish teenagers, Connell and Marianne, as they move from high school in a small town to college in Dublin. It’s a deep, emotionally layered story of love, power, class, and miscommunication (very heavy on that). Connell and Marianne come from very different backgrounds, he is popular and she is more isolated, however their connection is undeniable. We follow them as they struggle to navigate their feelings, fears, and expectations — often hurting each other in the process. The book discusses Love and Intimacy, they love each other deeply but always seem to loose and distance each other again and again. Another topic is Power and Vulnerability, as their roles shift over time, in school, college, emotionally and sexually, showing how subtle power dynamics shape relationships. Lastly it discusses Communication or rather, the lack of it. Much of their pain stems from not saying what they really mean. "Normal people" is a tender, devastating portrayal of two people who love each other deeply but can't always figure out how to make it work.
