Heartbroken
I knew what I got myself into, reading this sequel to ''The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas'', but now I'm still lost for words. John Boyne explores the psychological complexities of guilt and complicity and the repercussions of WW2 all through 91 year old Gretel (sister of Bruno). This is a deeply moving, compassionate and thought provoking novel, so I definitely recommend reading it. That's all I am going to say, as nothing will do it justice anyway.
