Let's not beat around the bush: Greg is kind of a jerk. But he's funny. Kinney's style is very catchy and helps to underscore the comedy. since this is a family friendly the humor is very slapstick heavy. But a lot of the humor also comes Kinney having Greg be a jerk to someone else and getting his commupins later. So the joke set-up is also great. All-in-All this is a great book, that is laugh-out-loud funny. Definitely an awesome book series for kids ages 10 and up. But also for those who are still children at heart. <3

Willkommen im Tagebuch von Greg, einem geplagten Siebtklässler. Nervige Eltern, blöde Brüder, stressiger Schulalltag an der Junior High mit Klassenrüpeln, den coolen und uncoolen Kids (dreimal dürfen Sie raten, in welche Gruppe Greg gehört..) und seinem besten aber auch peinlichen Freund Rupert. Man fühlt und leidet mit Greg, lacht herzlich und die Erinnerung an so manche Episode aus der eigenen vorpubertären Vergangenheit kommt hoch. Erinnert ein wenig an Adrian Mole und wird, da dies ein sogenannter Comic-Roman ist, durch zahlreiche witzige Comiczeichnungen begleitet, die geschilderte Katastrophen anschaulich vertiefen. Frech, originell und nicht nur für Kinder!
