Ich LIEBE Winter&Theo!!! Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass ein Buch meinen bisherigen Favoriten der Chestnut Springs-Reihe vom Thron stoßen könnte – aber Reckless hat genau das geschafft. Von allen Geschichten der Reihe hat mich diese emotional am meisten berührt. Nicht, weil sie die dramatischste ist, sondern weil sie von Anfang bis Ende von einer so intensiven Sehnsucht getragen wird, dass ich das Buch kaum aus der Hand legen konnte. Winter ist eine Protagonistin, die nach außen hin stark, unnahbar und beinahe kalt wirkt. Die berühmte Eiskönigin der Familie. Doch je mehr man über ihre Vergangenheit erfährt, desto besser versteht man, warum sie die Welt auf Abstand hält und weshalb es ihr so schwerfällt, anderen Menschen zu vertrauen. Ihre Entwicklung hat mich tief bewegt, weil sie sich nicht plötzlich verändert oder geheilt wird. Stattdessen begleitet man sie dabei, wie sie Schritt für Schritt lernt, gegen die Stimmen in ihrem Kopf anzukämpfen und sich selbst ein wenig mehr Raum für Hoffnung zu erlauben. Und dann ist da Theo. Was ich an ihm so geliebt habe, ist, dass er nie versucht, Winter zu retten. Er drängt sie nicht, er fordert nichts von ihr und er versucht nicht, sie zu verändern. Stattdessen bleibt er. Er bemüht sich. Er hört zu. Er sieht den Menschen hinter den Mauern, die sie um sich herum aufgebaut hat, und gibt ihr die Zeit, die sie braucht. Dadurch fühlt sich ihre Beziehung unglaublich echt an. Es geht nicht darum, ob sie zueinanderfinden – sondern darum, ob Winter irgendwann glauben kann, dass sie bleiben darf. Dass sie geliebt werden darf. Dass sie sich auf jemanden verlassen darf. Besonders schön fand ich, dass ihre Geschichte über einen längeren Zeitraum erzählt wird. Man erlebt nicht nur die großen Gefühle, sondern auch die kleinen Schritte dazwischen. Die Momente, in denen Vertrauen entsteht. Die Rückschläge. Die Zweifel. Und genau deshalb haben sich die emotionalen Höhepunkte für mich so verdient angefühlt. Natürlich gibt es auch jede Menge Leidenschaft, Spannung und Herzschmerz. Aber das, was mir von diesem Buch am stärksten in Erinnerung bleiben wird, ist die Art, wie Theo und Winter miteinander umgehen. Wie viel Geduld, Verständnis und Beständigkeit in ihrer Beziehung steckt. Für mich die stärkste Liebesgeschichte der Reihe und ganz klar mein neues Lieblingsbuch aus Chestnut Springs.

A one hell of a night with all the right feelings... Is it possible that every further book in the series gets better? Yes, it is. The writing is amazing, it's fluid and very well written. I was flying through the pages. The story is interesting and captivating. I could stop reading it for a bit. The story is told from both POVs in the first person, which means Winters and Theos inner thoughts, feelings and actions were right open to me (the reader). It is easy to follow every though and to understand them in a better level. The interactions between Winter and Theo are hilarious, hot and relatable. It felt as I would stand there close with a popcorn bag. The tension is high and denying that isn’t easy while tiptoeing what the other might feel... I really enjoyed every single interaction and page with this couple. I could resonate well with both and was very close in their love story. Theo and Winter are deep and reliable characters that I could always relate to. Can't deny this book has Spice. Good spice and definitely not to much. Conclusion: When you know, you just know it. This is so good. A bit different than the other books but in a good way. I liked the banter and the heat. Theo and Winter showed that the exterior definitely isn't matching the interior. Loved every single page. I was searching for a cowboy romance, and this book exceeded my expectations. On top of that, I discovered a trope I never thought I’d enjoy: the pregnancy trope. And yet here I am, loving it.
This was my first entry into the Chestnut Springs series, and it was such a fun ride. If you’re like me and want a change from your usual book tropes, mixed with fantasies about hot cowboys, ranch life, cowboy hats and boots, and line dancing every day this book is for you.

Simply unbelievably suspenseful from start to finish. One of the best books I've read (I've read a lot of novels). Consistently entertaining but also very funny. The story of Winter and Theo follows on seamlessly from the third part of the series, which gives you the feeling of never having left the familiar Chestnut Springs.
