Travel Light The enchanting rediscovered fantasy classic

It’s a story divided into three parts. The first part was definitely what I came for and what they promoted with that beautiful cover and the blurb. Part two takes a weird turn into an uninteresting direction and if you made it to part three, you just want it to be over. Even the low number of pages and a big children’s book font couldn’t help speeding this story along. Which is very upsetting, because the FMC is great and her adventures quite unusual. But as the focus shifts from her to her companions the story loses all its magic and now it’s just a bunch of guys in a city betting on horses. How did we get from a girl raised by bears and made fireproof by dragons to this? Maybe I just didn’t get it.
