What the hell did I just read??? This was probably the weirdest fantasy book I've ever read. The first half made me deeply uncomfortable because of how men treat women here. The fantasy aspect was also pretty much non-existent. Then suddenly it is revealed that a fantasy world does exist and the protagonist has to choose a "house" that she wants to be part of. The girls she meets there are nice, but it is not really explained what they do all day and the other houses are never mentioned again. The last few chapters were very messy and I did not understand what was going on most of the time. I think the author had tried to fit as many themes and twists as possible in this book, but this made it all seem like a bunch of seperate stories rather than a book with a coherent plot.
