sapphic vampire romance in a gothic setting - what more do I need to say?

Bewertet: Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

Contains spoilers!! When I first started the book, I was amazed at how easily I could picture Lawrence and how her life had come to this turning point. I loved how all the characters had their role to carry and how their characteristics worked so well together. It truly felt as if I myself got to meet all of them personally - hence I grew quite attached to them and was very upset about some of their deaths. However, I am not mad or sad about the ending at all. In my opinion, it was the most perfect end for this doomed love story between Ophelia and Lawrence. Unfortunately I can very much relate with Lawrence's decision to go back to Ophelia even after all the warnings she recieved. I would've done the same. Aside from the wonderful character developments, I found the historical setting of the novel to be very intriguing. The notes about morale and female empowerment stuck with me. At times, I had to stop reading and ask myself, how I would've answered certain questions myself. Alas, for now I am going to read the epilogue in hopes to hear more about my favourite girl Auggie! Edit: I just read the epilogue :P Yay, a bit more Auggie content, as I hoped for!! AND OMG!!!!! Dear author, why in god's name would you keep this fantastic ending from us??!
