Like in Love with You

Inspired and motivated by the latest Bridgerton season, I wanted to linger a little bit more in the aesthetic. Picking this one had been an easy decision. Regency sapphic? Count me in! I didn't expect much, since my opinion of romance novels is always a bit twisted, and those expectations have been met, still it could have used far more depth. Considering the sole purpose of this book is romance and two characters falling in love, I didn't quite feel it. There's been moments that felt genuine and nice, then it got overshadowed by shoehorning in some plot that didn't actually take place in the present. Why this was marketed as enemies to lovers is beyond me, since it truly isn't. It had its cute moments, tickled out a few chuckles, but it hurt to see the potential of a good story being washed away. It all went way too smoothly! Still, it's an easy romance read, the aesthetic is a given and there are two girls kissing. Still a win in these regards!
