The official Tolkien calendar, this year containing 13 stunning illustrations and paintings inspired by The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved work of fantasy.
The official Tolkien calendar has become an established publishing event, eagerly anticipated by Tolkien fans the world over. Previous Tolkien calendars have become much sought after collector's items, and this year's, which celebrates the 90th anniversary of The Hobbit, will doubtless be an essential purchase for Middle-earth fans everywhere.
Featuring 13 full-colour paintings of scenes inspired by the story, some of which are unique to this calendar, a world-famous roll-call of artists including Alan Lee, Ted Nasmith and Pauline Baynes explores J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved work of fantasy. Published for the first time, this calendar also includes a sketch by Maurice Sendak, creator of Where the Wild Things Are.
With a variety of artistic styles on display, this year's calendar is a celebration of the remarkable influence Tolkien and his work has had on artists around the world since The Hobbit's publication 90 years ago, inspiring a creative legacy that has endured across the generations.
