A mysterious gospel. A hidden wisdom. A forgotten revelation.
Pistis Sophia, translated and interpreted by G. R. S. Mead, is one of the most fascinating and enigmatic texts of early Christian Gnosticism. In these pages, the figure of Christ emerges in a profoundly different light: not only as a savior, but as a revealer of secret knowledge, guiding his disciples through the mysteries of the cosmos, the fall and redemption of the divine soul, and the ultimate ascent toward the Light.
Centered on the myth of Pistis Sophia-the fallen divine wisdom seeking restoration-this extraordinary work unveils a spiritual drama of exile, repentance, and salvation. Through complex dialogues, symbolic teachings, and esoteric visions, the text offers a unique glimpse into a tradition that challenges orthodox interpretations and invites the reader into a deeper, more contemplative understanding of existence.
Mead's masterful translation brings clarity to a text that has intrigued scholars, seekers, and mystics for over a century, making Pistis Sophia an essential reading for anyone interested in Gnosticism, early Christianity, and the hidden dimensions of spiritual truth.
Enter a world where knowledge is salvation, and the divine spark within longs to return to its source.
G. R. S. Mead (1863-1933) was a British scholar, writer, and prominent figure in the study of Gnosticism and Western esotericism. A close associate of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and a leading member of the Theosophical Society, Mead devoted much of his life to translating and interpreting ancient spiritual texts. His work helped bring forgotten traditions-such as the Gnostic scriptures-back into modern intellectual and spiritual discourse.
