Impressions in Implant Prosthesis is a comprehensive guide to the principles, techniques, and materials used for accurate implant impressions in modern prosthodontics. It highlights the importance of precisely transferring the three-dimensional position of dental implants to the master cast to achieve passive fit, biomechanical stability, and long-term clinical success. The book covers conventional impression techniques, including open-tray (pick-up), closed-tray (transfer), splinted, fixture-level, and abutment-level methods, discussing their indications, advantages, and limitations. It also reviews the armamentarium and impression materials such as polyvinyl siloxane (PVS), polyether, hybrid materials, and alginate, emphasizing the superior accuracy of PVS and polyether. Special clinical situations, including deeply placed, closely spaced, and full-arch implants, are addressed with modified techniques. Digital impression systems and their role in CAD/CAM workflows are also explored, providing an evidence-based approach to selecting the most appropriate technique and material for predictable functional and aesthetic outcomes.
