Sean came here in soft clothes with a referral card in his pocket. He tells himself this is still medicine. He could stop it. The words are right there.
He does not say them.
The Fulcrum after hours is a quiet room, an unlocked door, and two men who do not rush. Sean came for a hip. He keeps coming back for the hour after the last appointment, when neither of them pretends this is still about range of motion.
Some nights he texts one word before he boards the train.
The door is open when he gets there.
