Memoirs of Gen. Thomas Francis Meagher is a book written by Michael Cavanagh that chronicles the life and career of General Thomas Francis Meagher. Meagher was a prominent figure in Irish history, known for his role in the Young Irelander Rebellion of 1848 and his subsequent exile to Tasmania. He later escaped and made his way to the United States, where he became a leader in the Irish-American community and fought for the Union during the American Civil War. The book covers Meagher's early life in Ireland, his political activism, his time in Tasmania, and his military career in the United States. It provides a detailed account of Meagher's contributions to Irish and American history and sheds light on the struggles and triumphs of a remarkable individual. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
