The Country Parson: His Character and Rule of Holy Life is a book written by George Herbert and originally published in 1842. The book is a guide for country parsons, providing advice on how to lead a holy life and minister to their congregations. The book is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the character of the country parson, discussing the virtues that he should possess, such as humility, diligence, and patience. The second part focuses on the rule of holy life, providing practical advice on how the country parson should conduct himself in his daily life and in his ministry. Throughout the book, Herbert emphasizes the importance of living a life of faith and service to others. He stresses the need for the country parson to be a model of Christian behavior, both in his personal life and in his interactions with his congregation. The Country Parson: His Character and Rule of Holy Life is considered a classic work of Christian literature and has been widely read and studied by pastors and theologians. Its enduring popularity is a testament to the wisdom and insight of George Herbert's writing. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
