What makes a person right with God, and how does a believer stay accepted by Him? In The Gospel of Christ, Elder Dr. Mike Junmai Chen walks through Romans and Galatians, the two letters that became the primary biblical foundation of the Reformation's "grace alone" and "faith alone."
This is the first volume of Paul's Epistles. Written for pastors, ministry leaders, seminary students, and serious Bible readers, the commentary explains Paul's argument section by section. It places each passage in its historical setting, clarifies difficult words and phrases, and shows how the gospel shapes everyday Christian living.
Inside this book: an overview of Paul's epistles (why the New Testament contains so many letters, how they are arranged, and how to read them); Romans in six parts (the beginning of faith, justification by faith, the assurance of salvation, Israel's place in God's plan, the sanctified Christian life, and Paul's closing ministry and greetings); Galatians in five parts (the cross and the new era, the truth of the gospel, defending the gospel, living by the Spirit, and the new creation); Scripture quotations gathered at the end of each part for review and meditation; and an author's testimony on a lifetime of ministry.
