The book titled ""The Hessians: And The Other German Auxiliaries Of Great Britain In The Revolutionary War"" is written by Edward J. Lowell. It provides a comprehensive account of the German soldiers who fought alongside the British during the American Revolutionary War. The book delves into the history of the Hessians, who were mercenaries hired by the British, and other German auxiliaries who fought in the war. The author examines the reasons why the Hessians were hired by the British and their role in the war effort. He also discusses the experiences of the German soldiers during the war, including their living conditions, treatment by the British, and their interactions with American soldiers and civilians. The book covers various aspects of the German soldiers' involvement in the war, including their military tactics, battles they fought in, and the impact they had on the outcome of the war. The author also explores the political and diplomatic implications of the Hessians' involvement in the war, including the effect it had on relations between Germany and America.Overall, this book provides a detailed and insightful account of the Hessians and other German auxiliaries in the Revolutionary War, shedding light on a little-known aspect of the conflict.
