Ich frage mich ernsthaft, wie die Autorin den Überblick über all diese verzwickten Wege der Charaktere behält. Es ist einfach nur Wahnsinn und ich liebe es! Mein Kopf: weil ich einfach auch nicht mehr Wahrheit von Lüge und andersrum trennen konnte. Die Protagonistin hat mich immer mal wieder genervt, aber sie hat ne gute Entwicklung erlebt und ich freue mich, mehr über sie und die anderen zu lesen. Ich MUSS einfach! Julian hat mein Herz ❤️

Honestly, this book was on my to be read list for a pretty long time and I couldn‘t motivate myself to read it. After I read Once upon a broken heart, which is the first book of a side series and is also set in the world of Caraval, I was hooked on this story. I wanted to know more about this world of promises, intrigues, games and magic. The first book did not disappoint. A world building so dangerous as beautiful, made it really hard to put the book away. I thought the main character Scarlett was boring at first, but I fell in love with her brave heart and devotion for her sister with every page I read. Legend keeps his promise of a legendary adventure and leads you to loose touch with reality.

Die Idee und die Geschichte waren super unterhaltsam, wäre da nicht die Hauptprotagonistin Scarlett gewesen... Ich habe noch nie eine so nervige, naive und sture Protagonistin gehabt, die mich wirklich an den Rand des Wahnsinns gebracht hat. Am Ende wurde sie allerdings erträglicher, was das Buch gerettet hat.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Caraval completely pulled me into its world. I will say, though, that the beginning was a little rough for me to get through. It took me a while to really get into the story, and Scarlett saying “my sister” what felt like every second sentence started to drive me a little crazy. But once the story really got going, I was hooked. I loved the mysterious, magical atmosphere and the constant feeling that you never really know what is real and what is simply part of Caraval. Stephanie Garber created such a beautiful and imaginative world, and I constantly wanted to know what was waiting around the next corner. The twists, secrets, romance, danger, and complicated relationship between the sisters made the story more and more addictive as it went on. What I loved most was the atmosphere. Caraval feels dark, whimsical, romantic, and slightly dangerous all at the same time. It genuinely felt like stepping into another world. So even though the beginning took some patience and Scarlett’s obsession with mentioning her sister tested me a little, by the end I absolutely loved it. The ending made me immediately want to continue with the next book. Definitely a 5-star read for me, especially if you love fantasy, mystery, romance, and stories where nothing is quite what it seems.

This book was written so smartly, something I’ve never experienced. The magic was truly reflecting to the reader! I loved it. Perfect Clifhanger, EVER!! I can’t wait for the second book
