This novel is a light read, a perfect palate-cleanser without being bland. A happy ending, a touch of drama and a great time overall. Since the very beginning, I loved Rogerson's writing style, and I continue to love it to this day. There's just something wholesome in the way she shapes her stories—and although similar on some few aspects, there's always enough new things that get me hooked every time.

Spirited away into a new world where the fair kind cannot use Craft without fearing to decay, a wicked magic only humans possess which we usually only call simple tasks like creating a painting, writing a story - and yet they crave the things humans make with a burning desire. And in middle of it all stands Isobel, a portrait painter from Whimsy. One day she is introduced to Rook, the prince of the Autumn court without knowing that this entire meeting ends up in the biggest adventure of her life. It is such a wonderful tale, rich in emotions and magic that I have a hard time to catch words to describe it. I think with Rogerson I found my next favourite author.
