Meine letzte Rezension It’s a Love Story – Erfinde deine eigene Romance

    Traces

I think, I have rarely read a book as many times as I did this entire trilogy. Sophie's writing connects the way of poetry, prose and healing in a book which - to me - feels more like the self sewed cozy blanket of a beloved grandma, a good mug filled with hot cocoa after the worst days and the almost-bone-breaking hug of the dearest friends. I'm very aware that this novel might not be for everyone as Aiden is a very unreliable character and you're spending most of the series in her head. But I encourage everyone to give it a try, because maybe this could become your next favourite read and you're just not aware of it yet.

The Raven Boys (the Raven Cycle, Book 1)

I am saying this for the entire series: The entireness of The Raven Cycle gave me an unforgettable adventure, unique friends and everlasting memories. I guess it taught me one or four things about life: "If you can't be unfraid, be afraid and happy."

    Dead Poets Society

Don't get me wrong - I had wonderful teachers who inspire me still. However, my favourite will always be Mr Keating. I cannot fathom the words to describe in a comprehensive way HOW much this book means to me. It is one of the few novels which I read over and over again. Every time I get back into this story, I am taken back into Mr Keating's classroom where you rip out the pages of those stiff books because no theory can explain the passion behind poetry. Also I will always cry at that one section. Something of my soul will always be a part of Neil and Todd.

    A Language of Dragons

I struggle to explain in words how I felt with this book. And perhaps that's okay because I've learnt that sometimes things get lost in translation. However, I want to underline how this book gave me back my own fascination for languages again. Something I had considered lost. It also taught me that sometimes all you need is a bit of a dragon's courage to persuade the things you truly want. Be it your dreams or simply to try to find a way to justice and fairness. I cannot tell you to read it. All I can say is that I recommend it because the story gave me more than I can put into words. I'm looking so forward to what the next book entails.

    In Memoriam

I cannot thank the two friends, which I won't call by name here, for recommending this novel to me. It is filled with so many emotions that all the languages I know failed me. After Lancali's "I Fell In Love With Hope" and Kawaguchi's "Before The Coffee Gets Cold", I haven't cried as heavily as reading this novel. This exchange of letters between friends at the front. Between people who cannot confess that they have feelings for each other. Despite all these inexplicable emotions and tears, I think of grabbing this novel again (and again) to simply read it once more. To visit Gaunt, Ellwood, Sandys and the lot one more. From its vibe, I would suggest it to people who liked E. M. Forster's "Maurice" or another rather historical queer fiction which has a flair of dramatics, heartache which also gets mended.

    The Deadly Side of Love

    Don't Let the Forest in

Have you ever visited the woods when the darkness embraces the branches of trees and cast shadowly creatures where usually the light kisses leaves? Just that in this book the creatures are actual monsters with sharp teeth and a thirst for blood. Together with his bestest friend, Andrew fights them every night in hopes to not just safe the school but also the people he holds very dear. This novel offers a very good representation in someone who learns what it means to be ace (asexual) and how complicated romantic feelings can be.
