    super grumpy x sunshine

    The wall of winnipeg and me von Mariana Zapata - war das wohl langsamste “slow burn” Buch, dass ich jemals gelesen habe! Vanessa ist seit zwei Jahren die persönliche Assistentin von Aiden, dem Pro-Football Player der three hundreds. Der beachtet sie aber nicht wirklich und schenkt ihr auch nicht die Wertschätzung, die sie sich wünscht. Sie nimmt ihren ganzen Mut zusammen und kündigt. Als Aiden dann vor ihrer Tür steht und sie anfleht, ihn zu heiraten, ändert sich das Leben von Vanessa schlagartig. Grundsätzlich hatte das Buch mega Potential, aus dem Plot etwas herauszuholen. Bis zur Hälfte des Buches hat sich die Geschichte aufgebaut und viel von dem Geschehenen wurde dann auf den letzten 50 Seiten heruntergespielt oder gar nicht richtig thematisiert. Grundsätzlich hat mir das Buch und das Setting gefallen, hätte mir aber mehr von der Geschichte erwartet.

    Sehr langsam und voller Wiederholungen, was das Lesen unglaublich zäh gemacht hat. Die Charaktere waren eintönig, keine interessante Gespräche, keine emotionale Momente (mind. bis Seite 130) – leider konnte ich es nicht beenden.

    Listen, if you love a slow but like I’m this is the one. I overall already LOVE Mariana Zapatas books since she just somehow manages to write the slowest of moments interesting, the tension between the characters raising with each chapter. It’s of course very subtle but the smut at the end is so damn worth it. Fr had me running around my room and giggling. There’s invisibly some emotional scenes as well but mostly it’s just the progression of the leads relationship. I read the 500+ pages in like 10 days man.

    Wieder hat eines ihrer Bücher mich kein bisschen enttäuscht. Ihre Bücher sind einfach genau nach meinem Geschmack. Auch mega das motivierende Buch, muss man sagen. Empfehle ich zu 100%, vorallem jeden, der Bücher von Mariana Zapata schon gelesen hat und ihren Style gerne ließt

    Mega Slow Burn Romance!

    Ach, ich liebe dieses Buch hatte es zwar erst als EBook wollte es dann aber unbedingt in meinem Regal stehen haben und habs so dann weitergelesen. Mir Slow Burn dachte ich immer, kann ich nichts anfangen, aber dieses Buch... wow ich hab es so genossen man konnte die Entwicklung der Charactere, die Gedanken, alles so gut nachvollziehen. Ich habe es regelrecht verschlungen! Habe mir direkt "Lukov from Love" bestellt, wartet jetzt im Regal sehnsüchtig auf mich :) Wirklich Top Buch, Top Autorin, Schreibstil wirklich sehr flüssig und auf Englisch auch sehr einfach geschrieben sodass es viele Lesen können. Definitiv eine Empfehlung, absolutes Highlight.

    "touch my wife again and I'll Break every bone in your goddamn body"

    • marriage of convenience / fake marriage • sloooooow burn • mentions of alcoholism, child neglect, abusive behaviour || I looooved "From Lukov with Love", so I had to read another Mariana Zapata novel, but well, that was disappointing. While I love a good marriage of convenience / fake dating story, this one just didn't get to me. Mariana Zapata has an unique writing style that I adore, but I couldn't get warm with the FMC - she was so thirsty over her rude ass boss, but that's okay, because he's ~big and muscular~. Idk. The story itself is a 5/5 stars, but the MMCs should have been more like the roommate! He was adoreable, I loved him more than the MCs combined.
