Corrupt Devil's Night 1

If you're on BookTok, you've definitely come across this series. It’s one of those books that keeps popping up, and you hear people talk about it all the time. Thats why I got curious and wanted to find out for myself if the series is worth reading. And honestly? I loved it so much that the Devil's Night series has become one of my absolute favorites. Especially Corrupt is a book that I wish I could re-read again for the first time! The Devil's Night takes place on October 30th – the night before Halloween. Since Halloween is my favorite holiday and I’m totally obsessed with fall in general, I had sooo much fun reading this book! I definitely recommend reading it in fall to really soak in the whole vibe of the book. One thing I loved about this book, were the time jumps to the past, especially the first one where Michael and his friends go through the classrooms of the school, blasting rock music through the speakers and picking up people to join them for the Devil's Night. That scene was just chef’s kiss – it stuck with me so hard. Theres another scene from the past that I just can't stop thinking about. Small Spoiler alert! Michael and his friends take Rika with them on the Devil's Night. They have so much fun together and I really love the whole group dynamic. And don't even get me started on the nickname they have for her - “little monster.” It's so adorable and cute, especially once you figure out how they came up with that ♡⸜(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⸝♡. Rika Fane is such a strong FMC who doesn't back down even when things get intense – especially when Michael’s friends get released out of prison and they all go after her for revenge. After all, she's the reason they ended up stuck in there...right? Well, I suppose you have to read the book to find out for yourself ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈♡) The story is super well-written and has a bunch of plot twists that genuinely caught me off guard. 'Corrupt' was my first dark romance book and I was immediately impressed with it. The tension between Michael and Rika was palpable. Rika is convinced that Michael hates her with everything he has. His manner towards her is cold and condescending, but is that really how it looks inside him. The story never got boring and you just wanted more. I'm already looking forward to reading the next parts of the series.

He never really paid attention to her before, but then she made a big mistake and since then the four horseman are looking for Erika and want revenge. I've never read a book that was so dark. It was not only a lot of horror but also a lot of spice. The story is also very fascinating, I couldn't put the book down. Before reading it, please read the trigger warning first.

For years Erika tries to look away, trying to ignore the feelings she has for Micheal and the hold he has on her. But Micheal knows what hold he has on Erika and he loves it.

It's been three years since that day and Erika wants nothing more than to have peace in her life. That is not possible as she moves into the same building where he lives, where chaos starts to happen. The book got to my expectations with the action and the storyline. Rika and Michael knew each other since childhood which made things complicated but I'm really happy it worked out for them in the end.
