The second book of the series is even better than the first book. We have Kane's additional POV, which I really liked. The story develops further and new twists and turns are added. After book one, we dive into the consequences of book one and explore how Lyn and Kane deal with them (I don't want to spoil anything!). The fantasy plot is well constructed and I did not notice any glaring plot holes. All characters are well written and their motivations make sense. I loved Lyn's character arc, as she gets more confident and starts to accept her fate and powers. Also, Kane undergoes a very nice character development, as also his persective on things change. However, during these character developments, I felt that the characters are consistent in their behaviour and the developments were natural and not forced. Also I feel all characters were written like real humans. Regarding the spice: I loved that everything is consensual and also Lyn and Kane are written vulnerable and more realistic than in most romantasy books I read so far (if you know you know). This second book hat me going through all emotions and a rollercoaster ride of a story. I cannot wait for the final book!!
