Swift and Saddled A Rebel Blue Ranch Novel

Ich gebe dem Buch Swift and Saddled 4,8 Sterne. Die Atmosphäre des Buches hat mir ausgesprochen gut gefallen. Es ist auf jeden Fall ein Frühlingsbuch, da es im April spielt. Es ist eine tolle Cowboy-Romance und die Farm samt Apfelkuchen und Reiten vermittelt ein schönes Gefühl von Zuhause und Frühling. Dazu kommt der Small Town Vibe und der Trope Founded Family, der das Buch noch bezaubernder macht. Der Einstieg des Buches hat mir extrem gut gefallen, weil es einen einfach direkt gefesselt hat und man sofort drin war. Das war zu Beginn einfach direkt lustig und unterhaltsam. Auch die Kapitel waren immer spannend und man hatte keine unnötigen Beschreibungen. Das Beste an diesem Buch waren die Charaktere, denn Wes hat mein Herz im Sturm erobert. Er war einfach so charmant, wusste genau was er wollte und flirtet so unglaublich gut. Im Laufe des Buches merkt man einfach, wie obssesed er mit ihr ist. Ich fand es gut, dass er ihr so viel Freiraum gelassen hat, um sich auszuleben. Am süßesten waren seine kleinen Gesten und Aufmerksamkeiten. Er respektiert ihre Grenzen und ist dabei so freundlich, respektvoll und liebevoll. Auch sie hat mir als Charakter gut gefallen. Ada‘s Jon als Interieurdesignerin hat das Setting der Workplace Romance gut hervor gebracht und ich mochte die Einblicke, die man dadurch bekommen hat. Zwar war sie impulsiv, aber sie war auch leidenschaftlich und wusste, was sie will. Zwar wird über tiefgründige Themen wie Depressionen, Probleme beim Sex, keine Freunde finden und ein toxisxher Ex-Ehemann gesprochen, allerdings werden diese kaum behandelt und nur angeschnitten. Das fand ich extrem schade, denn die Themen gatten so viel Potenzial ausgebaut zu werden, aber sie wurden kaum behandelt, weswegen ich auch einen halben Stern abziehe. Man muss natürlich berücksichtigen, dass es auch eher eine Romcom ist und kein tiefgründiges Buch, aber wenn man das schon so anschneidet, hätte ich mir gewünscht, dass sie auch mehr thematisiert werden. Insgesamt hat mir das Buch von den Charakteren sogar noch besser als der erste Band gefallen und es ist eine schöne Romcom für zwischendurch mit einem wunderbaren Frühlingssetting, allerdings mit eher wenig Tiefgang und viel Fast Burn.

The 2 book from the Rebel Blue Ranch is much better than the first one, in my opinion. The characters have a great humor and actually made me laugh a couple times (doesn't happen often). Compared to the first book I really loved the development of the relationship between the characters. It's simple written and also a kinda simple story, but still cute, beautiful and romantic. I liked it a lot, especially because the cowboy aspect was more present in this one.

I bought this book because the western cover and the introduction on the back caught my attention. It sounded promising at first, but the writing let me down. The style feels simplistic, almost childish, with the word “fu*king” appearing on nearly every page. The scenes felt rushed, and I would have loved more depth—especially when it came to Ada’s past and her project. The writing is very easy to follow, so much so that I finished it in three hours. The plot is cute, and it’s a sweet comfort book you can casually enjoy. But it left me wanting more. The emotions, particularly between Ada and Weston, were underwhelming. Instead of pulling me into their minds and hearts, the story just described them. It felt flat. There isn’t much of a plot, to begin with, and what’s there feels rushed and predictable. That said, I did like the setting: a cowboy and city girl in Wyoming at the Blue Rebel Ranch. It’s a vibe. There’s potential here, but the writing style didn’t work for me—it stayed on the surface. It lacked depth, and the constant mentions of brands and trendy social media references didn’t help. While those things might appeal to some, I was looking for an escape. I wanted to feel like I was right there in Wyoming, immersed in ranch life, watching Ada leave the city behind and embrace change. But that never really came through. The characters didn’t develop much either. Ada’s transition to ranch life wasn’t fleshed out, and Weston didn’t feel layered or compelling. It all just skimmed the surface. I can’t rate this more than 2 stars—one for the country vibe and one for the characters. In terms of writing, plot, and development, it needs improvement. Overall, if you’re in the mood for a light, kitschy read with surface-level romance—something that feels like your typical TikTok book—this might work for you. It’s sweet and easy to get through, but it didn’t deliver the depth or escapism I was hoping for.
