Not for the Faint of Heart

Not for the Faint of Heart is a historic romance set in ye olde England, centering Robin Hoods Granddaughter. This book is full of adventure, with a group of friends – or technically colleagues, if you ask Mariel – that feels like you´ve been one of them since the beginning. Clem being the most enthusiastic and positive kidnapped person to have ever existed - while everyone seems to see her as more of an apprentice, than an actual hostage - was a wonderful dynamic to witness and made for a very fun read. Exciting and fun, yet also emotional. This is a book for everyone looking for a cozy, but never boring adventure.

When I tell you, I thought this was going to be a funny, silly read, but now it has me questioning my whole life. Clem gets kidnapped by a band of the Merry Man, people who follow the idea of Robin Hood and the Woods being for the people. For some weird reason, Clem seems to be okay with her kidnappers practically forcing her to be part of the team. While trying to stay alive and keeping everyone around her alive, she starts to catch feelings for the captain of her team. Mariel (the captain) though, struggles with her feelings, leading her own team and trying to be accepted by her father. This book was the perfect mixture of feelings, jokes, adventure and love (romantic and platonic). Good to know, there is a nonbinary character in this book, and their identity is never questioned. We love to see that. I fell in love with this particular group of rebels and will not stop thinking about them for the next couple of weeks, years.....

I loved "Gwen and Art are not in love" but THIS! THIS IS EVEN BETTER DARE I SAY! The found family and the group dynamics in this book were so wholesome and lovely. If you don't love this then I'm sorry to tell you there's no hope for you. It's funny and brilliant, god I'm so happy to have read this book ahhhhh This is probably one of my favourite bits: "Kit was now showing Morgan the flowers and repeating excitedly 'St. John's wort.' Morgan said 'St. John's what?' And Kit said 'Exactly!' This was the sort of thing that quite frankly made Mariel want to kill them all." If this doesn't convince you then you're a lost cause
