I thought it about the first book, and this one made me think it even more: If you loved Six of Crows and want another book about a group of criminals meddling in royal politics, this is the series for you! "If it can’t be trust, let vengeance bind us." I love this weird balance these characters have between found family and huge trust issues, where they kind of start to care about each other but also fear betrayal at every turn. All of them are different levels of morally grey and it's so interesting to see how they judge and understand each other differently. 'Royo shakes his head. "You're the most foolish girl I know." But he says it like I love you.' I fell for them in book 1 and it just kept going in this one. Royo and Aeri are definitely my favourites in this group, their grumpy x sunshine dynamic is so funny! Plotwise I felt that this one was a little weaker than book 1, but it was still a wild and entertaining read and I can’t wait for book 3!
