Caught Up An Into Darkness Novel

If it's your 1st book by Navessa Allen, then it's 5 stars - it's super spicy mafia romance with a strong FMC. I would recommend it. But we are all expected something different after "Lights out" (like the same vibe?) - I guess that's the reason for lower ratings.

Okay... SO I liked the first book. But this one... Let's just say Caught Up fell a little flat for me. The satire, humor and charm of the first one were switched out for a more serious tone, which was not my thing. I really liked the satirical writing of the first book and the humor it had. The characters in the first one also carried a certain charm with them that was enjoyable and made me like the main couple. Caught Up was not a bad story though, I actually quite liked the side characters in this one. Even a little more than the protagonists. So if you enjoy well written spicy scenes, a good supporting cast and a bit of a more serious vibe in your dark romance books, this is the one for you.

Einen unserer Hauptcharakter kennen wir bereits aus Band 1: Junior. Er lebt in seiner eigenen Welt, etwas abgeschieden von der restlichen Mafia Familie. Kommt jedoch nicht so schnell dort heraus, wie er es am liebsten hätte. Er ,,räumt“ mit seinen Brüdern auf, was der Vater veranstaltet hat. Sei es das Verschwinden lassen einer Person, oder auch das Erpressen von anderen Leuten. Im laufe der Buchseiten erfahren wir tiefgründige Geheimnisse, die nie jemand anderes erfahren sollte. Außer diejenige, mit der er sie teilt: Lauren. Sie ist eine selfmade Millionärin, die ihr Geld mit Videos verdient, auf gewissen Internetseiten. Die beiden kennen sich seit Schulzeiten und vertrauen sich daher schnell. Einige heiße Szenen werden unfassbar gut beschrieben und man fühlt definitiv mit. Sie werden ein Badass Paar, mit dem man es sich keineswegs verscherzen sollte. Auch Juniors Vater bekommt dies zu spüren. Lauren und Junior unterstützen sich in allen Dingen, sei es wegen der Arbeit oder mit Problemen aufgrund der Vergangenheit. Dieses Buch bekommt eine 5/5. sehr zu empfehlen!

Mir persönlich hat der Band noch viel mehr gefallen, Erstrecht die Club Szenen. Es ging direkt los mit der Geschichte was mich sofort in den Bann gezogen hat. Kann es nur empfehlen ☺️

He has emotional depth, genuine communication skills, and a chemistry with Lauren that had me pausing the audiobook just to scream into a pillow. And Lauren? Queen behavior. She knew what she wanted, didn’t play games, and plot twist—she actually communicated. Revolutionary! The way she handled everything with grace and logic? Bless her. No wild accusations, no unnecessary drama—just a woman managing her business and her emotions like a pro. We don’t do messy misunderstandings here, babes. The angst? Delicious. The spice? Plenty. (HELLO, photobooth & confessional) Enough to fog up your sunglasses, but not so much that it drowns out the emotional beats or character growth. It’s the perfect balance of steam and story. Like a well-crafted cocktail, you want to savor it and then order again. Oh, and the audiobook? Top tier. Teddy Hamilton, the man you are! I hit play, and suddenly I was in a scandalous trance with no escape. The narrators understood the assignment—and then some. Now, please excuse me while I go stare longingly into space and pretend I’m in a photobooth with my fictional soulmate. Just kidding… kind of.
