We follow Them throughout this book. Tem, raised by a single mother in a chicken farm. Tem, with her stormy temper and witty comebacks. Tem, whom nobody in the village likes. Basilisks are very sexual, and since the peace treaty, they have agreed to help humans out in that way, and in exchange, the humans stay inside their mirror-walled town. Tem meets Caspen, the King of Serpents. He's to be her teacher. But teaching in the art of intimacy is more tricky than one would think, and even moreso for someone like Tem... I really enjoyed this book, for it was something light to read, smutty to its core (perhaps too much sometimes). I loved Tem's personality and that of Leo, the crown prince. Caspen, in my opinion, lacked depth. The ending ties it well together though, and I'm excited to read the second book when it comes out!
