Crooked Kingdom A Sequel to Six of Crows

but if you thought it was smooth sailing after their heist in the first volume, you are sorely mistaken. A story about betrayal, love, magic and belonging almost unravels our beloved crew. There are political intrigues to overcome, family matters to attend to and lives to save. In my opinion this sequel is even better than "six of crows"!

After finishing the first book I had to continue reading immediately. I really liked that the story picked up right where it paused. Now, having already bonded with the characters it was really easy to get back into the story. I loved that this time it wasn´t as “easy” as it was before with the Ice Court. It was nice to see that even Kaz, who normally is one step ahead of everyone, was at his limits and had to improvise. This book made me live through every emotion I have ever felt, and I loved everything about that. I cried, was embarrassed for someone else, and giggled for my favourite couple. I could have read many more books with these characters, but they (mostly) got their good endings and that is all I could have wished for them.

This was such a good ending. Maybe it wasn't as good as the first, but the first one being one of my favorite books of all time makes it kinda hard for this to be equally amazing if I'm completely honest. The one thing it did top was the amount of tears I shed. That I can say. But still. These characters will always have a place in my heart and I already read the first one again because this duology is THAT good and I can't get enough of their story.

Like in Six of Crows, I was utterly lost while reading it. Not because I didn't understand what was going on, but because it was super fast-paced and a lot of information thrown left and right. Still, it was absolutely amazing. I love the Grishaverse so much, and seeing criminals that are morally grey-ish and not just heroes is an awesome twist. I love Leigh Bardugo's writing style so, so, so much and I cannot stop fawning over her books in this universe. Go read it!

By Djel, I love those books! The worldbuilding, the magic, the characters and the incredible style of writing, the book wiggled its way into my heart and soul and came to stay! Everytime I travel back to Ketterdam I feel like coming home, well a pretty broken home, Ketterdam is not exactly a place to be save in, but the characters feel like home and the story is so familiar to me now, after I have reread it a couple times, that it really is like coming home and getting greeted by friends and family! Crime, fantasy, tough feelings between characters and a building war that has to be stopped, one couldn't ask for more! And the collecters edition sure is a sight for sore eyes in every bookshelf!
