Small Spaces

“Small Spaces” by Katherine Arden is a wonderful creepy and atmospheric read! I absolutely loved the autumnal setting, the eerie school trip, and the unsettling feeling that something was wrong from the very beginning. The atmosphere was easily my favourite part… foggy fields, scarecrows, old legends, and that perfect feeling of being somewhere you definitely shouldn’t be. Ollie was a great protagonist, and I really enjoyed following her as she tried to figure out what was happening. The folklore elements added another layer of mystery and made the story feel like a modern spooky fairytale. It’s creepy without being overly dark or gory, making it a perfect read for anyone who loves atmospheric horror and autumn vibes. I was completely pulled into the story and honestly didn’t want to put it down. I would also recommend it for kids/teenagers who wanna take a dive into the horror genre.
