When I tell you I LOVED this book! It's one of my all time favorite re-reads. Lou is a witch, hiding from her dangerous circle and trying to survive undetected in the city of Cesarine, which is full of huntsman of the church. After an unfortunate series of events, Lou is forced to marry one of them: Reid, who has no idea that she's actually a witch. This book is full of sassiness and sarcasm, a stunning protagonist and beautiful, funny enemies-to-lovers. I loved every single page!

Dazu lässt sich das ganze super lesen, ohne flach oder langweilig zu werden. habe die ganze Reihe schon vor einer Weile gelesen, denke aber immer noch gerne an sie und empfehle sie ebenso leidenschaftlich weiter!

Louise is one such ‘creature’ and she finds herself in the midst of an ancient and ongoing war between witch hunters and witches. But she herself is hiding from a much greater threat and earns her livelihood being a common thief, suppressing the memories of magic and her past life. She’s also a delightful and complex heroine, full of sarcastic humor and wit, never afraid to speak her mind or sing raunchy, disgusting songs. Definitely the best fantasy story featuring witches I’ve read so far. Prepare for a dark, thrilling and romantic tale with many unexpected twists and a refreshing, funny protagonist.
