In einer Zeit voller Ungewissheit – sei es politisch, wirtschaftlich oder zwischenmenschlich – bringt die Autorin eine erfrischende Brise und eine ebenso ungewöhnliche wie augenöffnende neue Perspektive auf das Thema Liebe, Verlust und alles dazwischen. All About Love: New Visions ist besonders geeignet für Menschen, die nicht wissen, wohin – sei es im Job, in der Romantik oder einfach mit sich selbst.

In “All about Love” bell hooks writes about new perspectives on how we can love – each other and ourselves. I really really wanted to love this book, but it unfortunately didn’t meet my expectations. While the first two-thirds were interesting, she lost me in the last third with talk about religion and spirituality. However, I’d still recommend this precisely because of the strong start – it did change my perspective and helped me understand certain societal problems better.

bell hooks had me highlighting every other sentence in the first half of the book but completely lost me at the parts about religion and the heteronormative perspective that is quite present in the second half!!
