Emotional, fesselnd und echt - so ist Alice Osemans "Radio Silence". Als klassisches Coming-Of-Age Buch behandelt es viele Themen, die Teenager beschäftigen, wie z.B. psychische Gesundheit, Sexualität und Liebe, LGBTQIA und natürlich das Erwachsen werden. Es stellt sich vordergründig der Frage, was man mit seinem Leben im späteren Beruf anfangen kann, ohne sich selbst zu verlieren. Ich finde, der Autorin sind vor allem die Charaktere wirklich gut gelungen. Sie sind dreidimensional, realistisch und in ihrem Teenager-Sein wirklich authentisch. Aled und Frances habe ich sofort ins Herz geschlossen, aber auch die anderen Charaktere waren sehr sympathisch. "Radio Silence" ist perfekt für alle "Heartstopper"-Fans, die endlich Aled besser kennen lernen möchten, aber natürlich auch für alle, die gerne Geschichten sehr diversen Protagonisten lesen. Es lohnt sich!

I am literally the biggest Alice Oseman fan on this planet, so it wasn't a suprise that I absolutely adored this book. I think about it at night and day, and recomend it to everyone I know. (Even my mom had to read it because of me LOL) It makes me very proud to read about so strong LGBTQ characters. The storyline is so catching even tho I'd say it's an comming of age type of book. Anyway, the message I want to deliver is: GO READ THIS BOOK!

Frances hat das Gefühl, sich zwischen Eliteuni und Individualität entscheiden zu müssen. Sie ist ein Mädchen, mit dem sich sicherlich viele bis zu einem gewissen Grad identifizieren können. Liebe wird erwähnt, aber nicht zu sehr thematisiert, sodass der Fokus bei der Selbstfindung bleibt. Einzelne Elemente gegen Ende wurden meiner Meinung nach etwas übertrieben inszeniert, trotzdem ist das Buch eine ganz klare Leseempfehlung und eines meiner Lieblingsbücher.

I absolutely loved it. Alice really helped me with her books and this one just pulled me out of reality the storyline is amazing and it just shows that no matter how you see a person you don't know them until you really try to get to know them. I don't know how to explain it but you should definitely read this book

“And I’m platonically in love with you.” “That was literally the boy-girl version of ‘no homo’, but I appreciate the sentiment.” This book hit so close to home, and I absolutely loved it. As the review title states the goal or the usual plan of going to university, because everyone else is doing it and it is kind of expected by society, is not an option for everyone and that is totally fine. We all need to go or own way without getting pressured or forced into a direction we don't like or enjoy. Radio Silence is about enjoying creativity and seeing life as having more options than solely "go to University to fullfil the wishes of society, your parents and your teachers" and figuring out your own path, even if it takes some time. And the fact that academic pressure and the education system can be a heavy weight one someone's shoulder. The diverse cast of characters and fact that literally every lead character is queer brings so much diversity and representation into modern day media. It is truly a YA where the author, Alice Oseman, portraits authentic teenagers with the mention of memes, the teenage experience, good dialogues as well the fact that sometimes friends are the better family.
