A great world to get lost in, the fight to bring magic back and the beginnings of a revolution - this is a fun ya fantasy! I really enjoyed the worldbuilding and the characters, especially the fmcs! Amari and Zélie are two completely different girls who have to fight together for what they believe and I really enjoyed seeing their friendship evolve from reluctant to tentative to honest and supportive and align with their journey to different amazing and beautiful and dangerous places. There's also romantic subplots and while I loved Amari's slow burn, I felt that Zélie's love story was rushed and also felt ill-fitting for her love interest's character. The way they changed their mind so fast and then changed again didn't feel convincing and was my biggest issue with the story. To be really honest, this was a good book, but I'm not sure whether I'll continue the series - something about it just didn't capture me the way I wished.

Habe das Buch etwa mit 12 gelesen und es hat meine Faszination für Bücher entfacht die bis heute anhält. Die Themen sind hart und gerade im zweiten Teil merkt man sich sehr stark, dass die Charaktere menschlich sind und auch überfordert sind, wütend, verängstigt, verzweifelt, angesichts der Themen absolut verständliche Emotionen. In diesem Buch gibt es auch ein sehr schwer zu lesendes Kapitel aber persönlich finde ich den Ausgleich zwischen harten Szenen und leichteren sehr passend und fesselnd und kann die ganze Reihe nur empfehlen und wünsche mir, dass die Community für diese Meisterwerke größer wird <3
