This book certainly had me feel emotional. Sometimes I was annoyed by the main characters, but mostly, this book had my heart breaking multiple times. Maybe because it's easy to remember being a teenager again and feeling too much. It was actually easy to identify with the protagonist. I'm excited to read the main series.

Ich habe die Novellen (insgesamt sind es fünf) in der häufig empfohlenen Reihenfolge nach Band 2 der Reihe gelesen. Sie sind alle für sich einzigartig. Alle Geschehnisse aus den Novellen spielen zeitlich vor Band 1 und werden sicherlich früher oder später in der gesamten Reihe noch eine große Bedeutung haben. Da bin ich mir sehr sicher. Auch wenn man das Ende der Novellen schon kennt, wenn man die Bücher in dieser Reihenfolge liest, ich sag es euch, ich musste sooo weinen. Wie gesagt, man wusste schon was passiert, aber trotzdem hat es einen so mitgenommen. Mir haben alle Geschichten – jede auf ihre eigene Art – sehr viel Spaß gemacht und ich bin schon gespannt, wann und wie die Charaktere wieder in der Geschichte auftauchen.

I can't understand why I've waited so long!

I loved this book with my whole heart. Honestly, I have no idea why I waited so long to dive into this series, especially since this book was such a breathtaking experience. This book gave me that exact, rare feeling I am always looking for as a reader. It was so addictive that I simply couldn’t put it down. Even though it is structured as a collection of novellas, the flow was seamless and incredibly easy to follow. I now completely understand why so many fans recommend starting the series here it builds such a necessary emotional foundation. The prose is absolutely wonderful. There is a lyrical quality to the writing that made the world and the setting feel vivid and beautiful. But more than that, it was the emotional impact that caught me off guard. This book made me cry! Celaena Sardothien is a phenomenal protagonist strong, complex, and deeply human. Watching her journey through these parts made me feel so connected to her. The character development is top tier, and I am already so invested in her story. I am beyond excited to continue with the rest of the series. If the first book is already this powerful, I can’t imagine what’s next!
