Elsie steckt in ihrem Trott fest und kommt von ihrem verhassten und unterbezahlten Job nicht los, sodass sie sich als bezahlte Fake-Dates anbietet. Ali Hazelwood novels have the reputation of being all very similar. If you've read one you've essentially read all of her books. And I can see the criticism but I still eat it up every time. Still, with 'Lover, Theoretically' she perfected this formula. The first part heavily deals with our protagonists life and her wanting to get her dream job. I appreciated that we get to know Elsie ourselves, before heading into the "romance section" of the book. Elsie is such a relateable character and personally I think she's the best written character in all of Ali Hazelwood's novels. Elsie always twists her personality to accommodate to other people's expecations. This whole theme of societal role expectations was well done! The love interest has a bit more depth than Ali's other love interests and finally Ali wrote a bookboyfriend with blond hair!!
