This gothic sci-fi novella offers an alternate world set in the 20s, a moon asylum and ancient gods. Extremely weird and experimental but executed so well! The plot is really unique and the brutal story is told atmospheric and makes you feel deeply unsettled.

Spiders? Asylums? On the Moon? A weird concept that works so well and probably the first time I consciously read cosmic horror. I loved it, albeit not understanding everything (but I blame that on me, not the narrative). Either way a big recommendation to everyone who needs a fresh no concept to get goosebumps over in the middle of the night!

It goes without saying that this book had everything you could have imagined. Webs that look like veils, spiderlegs scurrying away on hospital tiles, pulsating eggs... well and the arrogance of humankind. I enjoyed it much! A very different take on horror that I'm used to, meaning I had been surprised throughout! Worth the time.
