When Liz' childhood crush Michael moves back to her city and even visits to the same school as her she just can't help herself but see this as a sign from the universe that her and michael are meant to be. Together with her neighbor Wes she develops a master plan to show Michael that she is not the weird little girl from their childhood anymore, but girlfriend material, thus Wes and Liz pretend to date eachother briefly. What Liz doesnt know is that Wes isn’t just pretending to like her, he is hopelessly in love with her since they were children. After spending so much time with Wes and getting to know teenage Micheal Liz ins’t sure anymore which boy she is falling for. Lynn Painter takes the reader on a beautiful journey which deals with friendship, grief, family and friendship. It's pretty emotional because Liz processes the death of her mother, who died in her early childhood, on the other hand the banter between Wes and Liz is amazing and I couldn't get enough of it. Better than the movies made me laugh out loud and I even shed a few tears. I highly recommend this book to any rom-com lover.
