A Court of Growth and Change

After everything Feyre went through under the mountain, her life is far from being the fairy tale she imagined. Haunted by her experiences and struggling with the role she is expected to play, she finds herself suffocating rather than healing. While Tamlin tries to protect her at all costs, Feyre slowly begins to realize that love alone is not enough if it comes at the price of her freedom. When Rhysand re-enters her life, Feyre is drawn into a different part of the faerie world, one that challenges everything she thought she knew about herself, power, and love. Going into the second book, I already had high expectations, and somehow A Court of Mist and Fury managed to exceed them. The world expands so much in this book, and I loved finally seeing more of Prythian and learning about its politics, courts, and hidden secrets. Compared to the first book, this one feels much more intense and emotionally complex, especially when it comes to Feyre’s character. Her growth throughout the story was incredibly satisfying to read, and I loved watching her find her own strength and voice. The characters were once again a huge highlight for me. New dynamics, deeper relationships, and unexpected friendships made the story even more compelling. There were moments that were rather unexpected and made it difficult to put the book down. It definitely feels richer and more layered than the first one, without losing the romantic elements that made ACOTAR so enjoyable. A fantastic continuation of the series that combines romance, character growth, and an expanded fantasy world, and one that made me immediately want to keep reading.

ACOTAR 2: time to get dirty!

I actually wanted to take a break after Book 1 of the ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas, but it was highly recommended I continue straight away since it sets the pace for the rest of the series: so I did! Well, my friends, it turns out that “sets the pace” is quite an understatement. A better description would be: Book 2 takes everything we know about Prythian, dumps it on the floor, stomps on it a bit, and then hands it back to you with an innocent smile. Since defeating Amarantha, Feyre’s life has radically changed. Not only must the kingdoms attempt to return to normal after years of repression, but Feyre must now learn to live as one of them. The life granted to her by the High Lords has made her fae herself, perfect for starting a new life with her beloved Tamlin. But the nights spent in Amarantha’s dungeons have left wounds Tamlin cannot heal. Now, she must learn to navigate both her new body and her fractured state of mind. ✨ While ACOTAR has strong Beauty and the Beast vibes, A Court of Mist and Fury turns darker and more emotional. Feyre’s actions have broken her, and in Book 2 we watch her try to heal. It’s no longer the wonder of the fae we’re exploring, it’s the strength of one’s soul. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would absolutely recommend it, even if you only felt mediocre about Book 1! In fact, I think I liked this one even more than the first, despite the emotionally heavy undertone running through it.

To the stars who listen - and the dreams that answered

Can I give this Book more than 5 stars, please? This was definitely one of my reading highlight for this year! This book made ACOTAR feel like a long prologue, because this one hit me right in the beginning! I really don't want to spoil too much, so just go ahead and read it! If you like Fantasy and a good worl building with a lot of backstories - read it! I also liked how casual and funny Rhys is. And how supportive he is! We get to know each character, get a better understanding for the world and the past. I can't wait to continue with this series. I'm hooooooked!

“I want you to know,” I whispered, “that I am broken and healing, but every piece of my heart belongs to you. And I am honored—honored to be your mate.”

I could have never imaged A Court of Mist and Fury would be my first 5 star review this year. After reading about Rhysand and Feyre, I did not understand how I ever shipped her with Tamlin. Going from full poverty and having to care for the whole family, who did not show her one ounce of love, to being in a big magical mansion in the Spring Court with two very handsome men... I see how she fell in love with Tamlin. But she rather fell in love with the comfortabilty he came with. Seeing Feyre light up as soon as she was with Rhysand was my favorite part of the book. Finally learning about her powers, not being held a hostage at home, making her own decisions.. It made me feel so happy for her. Rhysand made her shine. He always made sure that she knows, she is her own person, not his to own, but her equal. With that being said, RHYSAND MAKING FEYRE THE HIGH LADY OF THE NIGHT COURT?? Amazing plot twist, I gasped and screamed and was so thrilled for the next journey of her being undercover in Tamlin's mansion.

    It got even better!

This one was even better than the first one. Yes, maybe there are some cringe-worthy quotes here and there, but I still ate everything up like nothing else. The romance we saw was such a good one and I loved the slow-burn aspect and the way they learned to love each other, still having boundaries. Also love that Feyre stood up for herself and I think that her character development was just beautiful to see. She dealt with some pretty tough things but learned to heal and the whole storyline about her process was written so well; I just loved every second. We also got a great cast of new characters, all very different, which led to the found-family trope that I didn't know I needed. The last one can't be anything else but great!

Feyre´s and Rhys´ lovestory bloomsto into something so heartwarming and captivating! This book is by far better than the first one. The plottwists and new characters are even more complex than the ones in Acotar and reappearing characters personalities get even more depth!
