A Court of Mist and Fury

I have heard from so many people that this book is the best of the whole series and I have to admit that I understand why. I really didn't like the story-telling of Maas in the first book but oh boy was I wrong to judge too quickly. Firstly, it amazed me how Maas describes mental disorders I have never read a book that went into the darkest corners of a character's mind like this and I really enjoyed it. Secondly, the plot started to develop so fast and every time I felt that the plot was starting to "falter", Maas dropped another plot twist. Nevertheless, I hope that this is not the best book of the series since I would be very happy to continue this thrilling journey.

After reading a court of thorns and roses I was already expecting a lot from this book, especially with all the tik tok‘s I have been seeing about this book. And even with my almost impossibly high expectations this book managed to surpass them all. I even gave myself some time before I review it to have a more grounded opinion, but it hasn‘t changed at all. Everything about this book is perfect and I am so excited to contiune reading this series. If high fantasy, fairies and romance is your thing, this series will not dissapoint you and I highly recommend it!

An incredible book that kept me up all night. This series is one of the best I've ever read!

Unser Buchclub hat sich vorgenommen, Acotar vor Erscheinen der neuen Bände zu lesen (oder zu terrassen), daher tauche ich zum ersten Mal in die Welt von SJM ein. Nachdem mir der erste Band der Reihe zwar gefallen, aber mich nicht restlos begeistert hat, habe ich mich sehr auf den zweiten gefreut, da ich so viel Gutes darüber gehört hatte.  Mir gefiel die Liebesgeschichte in diesem Band tatsächlich viel besser als im ersten (vielleicht, weil zwischen Tamlin und Feyre kaum Anziehungskraft bestand?). Ich ärgere mich total über mich selbst,  da ich vor dem Lesen so viele Spoiler zu Acotar auf Social Media gesehen habe. Ich bin überzeugt, dass mein Leseerlebnis ganz anders gewesen wäre, wenn ich nicht schon vorher gewusst hätte, wer zusammengehört und wer nicht. Trotzdem haben mir der Schreibstil, das world-building und die Anziehung zwischen Rhys und Feyre sehr gut gefallen. Die Handlung war zwischendurch etwas schleppend, das Ende hat mich hingegen wie ein Sturm weggefegt! Ich freue mich sehr darauf, weiterzulesen, jetzt, wo ich den größten Spoiler hinter mir habe. Ich habe parallel auch das von Jennifer Ikeda gesprochene Hörbuch gehört und muss sagen, dass mir ihre Art vorzulesen sehr gut gefallen hat!

Wow. I’m speechless and emotionally devastated! I suspected Nesta and Cassian, but Elain being Lucien’s mate was a plot twist I never saw coming. Lucien has had my heart since the start, he gives major Liam/Ridoc (from Fourth Wing) vibes. ✍️ I knew Nesta would be important, but seeing her and Elain turned into Fae was insane. Meanwhile, my hatred for Tamlin reached new heights. How is he this delusional? Honey, read the room! On the bright side, Rhys is officially a sweetheart (apologies for my first review, he’s now my second shadow king after Xaden). I can’t wait to see Feyre play her undercover cards in the next book, especially with Lucien already suspecting she’s lying!
