I love that Tori has her own story and that it was released before 'Heartstopper'. Like probably many others, I started with 'Heartstopper' and liked Tori from the very beginning. I think the mystery aspect of trying to figure out who or what Solitaire is is done so well. You really don’t want to put the book down. At times, it gets a bit darker, since Tori’s thoughts are not always the most positive, but everyone has their own struggles in life, and Alice incorporates that so well into her books that you really feel understood. And that is exactly what I love about her books. You can tell from the writing style that it is her debut, but that does not change the fact that it is amazing. I love Alice Oseman and everything she writes. There are always moments where you think, “Oh yes, that could happen to me too.” So I would highly recommend it to absolutely everyone.

It was the first book I read from the Alice Oseman books after I fell in love with Heartstopper. And I have to say I consumed it like it was a meal. I could not put it down and read nearly all of it in a free school period. I cried at the end, and mostly because I have never felt so seen in a character like Tori Spring; it felt like me in another universe. You follow Tori through her boring normal life until she meets a guy at her school who is new and is normally not the kind of person she enjoys being with, but she feels fascinated by his lifestyle, but she goes through her own struggles as well. If I had to recommend only one book from Alice Oseman, it would be this one.

Tori Spring is easily one of my favorite characters in the Heartstopper Universe. She's sarcastic, observant, and kind of done with the world, but in a way that feels incredibly relatable. Her thoughts feel so genuine and I really appreciated that the book doesn't try to "fix" her or wrap everything up neatly. It lets her be complicated and messy, which makes her feel like an actual person instead of just a character.

Solitaire is by far my favourite book out of the Oseman-Universe! Unlike Heartstopper, this is book surrounds Tori Spring - Charlies older sister. Oh, and it's about Michael Holden. But Tori doesn't really care about Michael Holden. (That's a lie, though) It's an emotional, intense coming-of-age novel with some lovable characters and breathtaking, darker plot twits. The way Alice Oseman is dealing with topics like mental health, etc rounds up the story pretty well. Easy to read and a wholehearted recommendation! I loved it!

Ein Jugendbuch, das wirklich ernste und finstere Themen behandelt und dabei trotzdem irgendwie leicht und lustig bleibt. Ich würde as ab 15 empfehlen. Alice Oseman mal ganz anders als in Heartstopper.
