Crescent City from Sarah J. Maas is a masterfully crafted Urban Fantasy, with fascinating, complex characters and enough mystery to keep you on your toes. I was enthralled with the workings of this world and the city the novel is set in. After Throne of Glass and Acotar, Crescent City is a welcome change of genre from Maas, while she still has all the emotional depth and character development I love about her books.

After finishing ACOTAR and Throne of Glass and taking a big break from reading Sarah J. Maas, I was a bit scared of going into this trilogy. Starting a new fantasy book always comes with confusion on the first few pages. Not here! I would definitely recommend reading Crescent City last. There are some hints and mentionings that can be easily overlooked if you haven't read ACOTAR or Throne of Glass. I absolutely loved all her previous books. The writing, the storytelling, the characters. This book was no exception. I devoured it from page one and stayed up till three in the morning to finish it. A magical murder mystery in a world where you are being watched constantly and every word could be your last. But even with these stakes, Sarah J. Maas created a world that you can fall in love with. The characters have depth and feeling to them. They work well together and give the story a good flow. And the flirting between Bryce and HUNT!!! I love these two. My jaw was on the floor while reading the last 200 pages. I couldn't PUT THE BOOK DOWN! I'm already headfirst in the second book and can't wait to see what's going to happen.

This is Zootopia for adults that want a touch of fantasy and the romance story, they didn't get in the movie. Because this story about a big city with different species, working together to solve a murder has exactly the same vibes. Yes, Bryce and Hunt aren't a bunny and a fox, but their bantering will make you laugh, their romance will make you giggle, and the ending will make you cry and clutch the end of your seat. A perfectly unperfect cast of characters that you'll still think about days later, because they steal your heart immediately. So if you want to dive into a city full of adventures (love being one of them), this is the book for you. /// Dieses Buch ist wie der Film ,,Zootopia” für Erwachsene, nur dass es hier dann auch noch die Fantasy Aspekte und eine Liebesgeschichte gibt, die man im Film vielleicht sehnlichst vermisst hat. Denn diese Geschichte, welche von einer riesigen Stadt voller fantastischer Spezies handelt, die zusammenarbeiten müssen, um einen Mord aufzuklären, versprüht genau das gleiche Gefühl wie auch ,,Zootopia”. Jaaa ich weiß, Bryce und Hunt sind kein Hase und kein Fuchs, aber ihr Schlagabtausch wird einen genauso zum Lachen bringen, ihre Liebesgeschichte wird einen herumschwärmen lassen und das Ende bringt einen nicht nur zum Weinen, sondern haut einen auch mit Spannung pur um. Diese perfekte Gruppe von gar nicht so perfekten Charakteren ging mir direkt ins Herz und lässt mich immer noch nicht so richtig los. Wenn man also in eine Stadt voller Abenteuer hineintauchen will (mit Liebe als eins der größten Abenteuer), ist ,,Crescent City” genau das richtige Buch.
