Meine letzte Rezension Lessons in Chemistry von Bonnie Garmus
I am so glad I finally read this book. Elizabeth's story was fascinating. The writing was very good... I literally got so mad whenever something sexist happened to her and just so you know, it happened a lot. I loved Elizabeth's, Madeline's and Six Thirty's relationship and especially the ending had me crying so many happy tears. She finally got the job she deserved and I couldn't have been happier about that. This book was a perfect portrayal of the sad reality of women in male dominated fields in the 50s. The way that she was able to reach so many other women and help them realize what they were able to do was just amazing. "...she only ever seemed to bring out the worst in men. They either wanted to control her, touch her, dominate her, silence her, correct her, or tell her what to do. She didn't understand why they couldn't just treat her as a fellow human being, as a colleague, a friend, an equal."

    Everything I Know About Love

I have read this book in one sitting. Cried, laughed and felt purely influenced to appreciate the relationships I have. This book felt like having a conversation with a friend or an older sister who is telling you about her failed relationships, her growing into a confident woman and the unconditional love she feels in a female friendship. I loved every part of it and if I could read it again for the first time, I would do it in a heartbeat. Definitely a must read!

    Happy Place

Emily Henry just never ceases to amaze me! She is able to write heartwarming romances that contain a certain depth. In "Happy Place" Harriet and Wyn seemed to not only fool their friends but themselves as well... Fake dating and second chance combined, this book really shows how important it is to communicate your feelings and to stay true to yourself and the ones you love. Finding what you truly want in life is essential and this book embodied that message perfectly.

    House of Frank

... because it was just so indescribably good. I felt so many things while reading "house of frank" that I haven't felt in a long time. The way this book included so many funny, cute and extraordinary characters was amazing. The way it handled loss, grief and love broke my heart and healed it again in just a few pages. This was definitely the best book I've read this month and I seriously urge you to read it as well. You will cry sad and happy tears, laugh and feel complete after having the pleasure of reading it.

    A Little Life

I knew this book would make me cry and break me but I still cried and cried for hours while reading it and after finishing it... It was the depiction of the purest form of friendship and love that got me so hooked. I felt like I was a hidden companion on Malcom's, Jude's, Willem's and JB's journey though life. Sometimes I wanted to scream at every single one of them. I wanted to hug them, I wanted to help them heal. It was definitely a book that consumed me completely and even after finishing it I felt like I could still feel the hatred and shame some characters made me feel, but also the affection, loyalty and deep love the four friends felt towards each other. From the start you wanted to know what happened to Jude, even if it would break you apart. After he revealed everything I felt so much hatred and was once again disappointed in human kind... Expect some very brutal and gut wrenching scenes! I can't comprehend how so many bad things can happen to such a kind and loving person... I am so glad that he got to live these happy years... even though they ended in so much sadness and misery.

    Bunny

I have to agree to the other reviews: reading this felt like a feaver dream. I couldn't put this book down because it was just so funny, weird, insane and intense. You never really knew what was real and what wasn't and that made the ending so much more surprising. The way the Bunnies were portrayed and Samantha's time with them was magnificent. I loved every single thing about it and am looking forward to reading more books by Mona Awad.

    Blue Monday

In Blue Monday psychotherapist Frieda Klein is first introduced and after reading the first book of this series, I realised that all I wanted to do, was read more about this strongminded, ridiculously smart and impressive woman. Frieda Klein is able to read people like open books. This characteristic enables her to solve the trickiest cases. Everytime I think that I have finally managed to solve the case and Nicci French hits me with an unexpected plot twist again and again. I especially love how the series is situated in London and because of Friedas love for quiet walks in the early mornings I got to learn quite a lot about London's neighbourhoods and its' lost rivers.

    The Housemaid

While reading "The housemaid" I was immediately thrown into an athmosphere that gave me goosebumps and a feeling that something really bad was going to happen soon. Something fishy is going on in the house, in which Millie, a previously convicted woman, is working as a housemaid. You think you have it figured out and solved the mistery of this strange and cold house, but sooner or later the plot twist will hit you and you will be surprised as to what is really going on in there. You'd be surprised as to what Millie had done in her past and what she is able to do now. At least I was. I loved this book so much! I had to read the next two books right after finishing the first and all three of them amazed me.
