The Spellshop The heartwarming, cosy fantasy about first loves and unlikely friendships

Ohh, I loved this so much! It has everything I wish for in cozy fantasy: books, cats, an overgrown homely cottage, and delicious sounding food. The picturesque setting draws you into the world and the surprisingly suspenseful plot keeps a nice balance with the cute romance and the heartwarming trope of found family. I especially loved the talking spider plant Caz (and also little Meep!!) who's such a fun and caring and *slightly* overanxious friend. Now my own non-sentient plants all seem rather boring!

The millenial in me would do everything to get a sentient plant bestie and trust me you would too after reading this one. A slow past soft romance on the side, this is the best book for people still obsessed with sims 4

This was probably the coziest and cutest story I've ever read. I loved everything about it and most of the time I wished I could live in this world full of kindness and magic. It was nice to witness Keila settle into her new life on the island and grow into her role as the jam shop owner (and the saviour of the island, of course). What made the story even better were the sentient plants. I loved Caz as the voice of reason and how done he was with Keila and Larran's inability to communicate. Meep, the cactus, made me laugh as well. If you enjoy cute love stories, loveable characters and cozy vibes, "The Spellshop" is definitely the book for you!

Großartige, liebe Charaktere und magische Wesen, die durch Sarah Beth Dursts schöne Beschreibungen in einer märchenhaften Fantasywelt zum Leben erwachen. Es gibt kaum Spannung im Buch und trotzdem macht es so viel Spaß beim Lesen! Es gibt eine zarte und süße Liebesgeschichte und ganz viel Freundschaft :)

Kiela doesn't get along with people at all, which is why the job as a librarian in the big capital is just right for her. But she isn't completely alone, she has her talking houseplant friend Caz who keeps her company instead. But both of them have to flee the library when a revolution breaks out in the capital and the library becomes a target. They flee to a small, remote island with a box of magic books. There they try to build a new life for themselves with the help of their cottage and good jam and maybe a few magic spells. But there is just one problem, magic is strictly forbidden. And then there is her good-looking neighbour, with whom a little romance might even develop. An incredibly great book and just great if you need something to make you feel good. I have to say, the characters quickly grow on you. Above all, I enjoyed seeing how Kiela developed and changed throughout the book. I particularly liked Caz, he brings a great touch to the story with his personality, especially with his humour. In general, you can see that a lot of love and thought has gone into each character. But the whole setting was just beautiful and had something magical about it. And then the magic gives you a complete picture. This book is just perfect for reading in bed, wrapped up in a blanket, while it's cold outside and drinking tea. An absolute highlight for anyone who loves cosy things.
